The entire town of Monterosso, both old and new will be ready for tourists this spring although much of the town is back in business as we speak. Vernazza is hoping to have a majority of their shops and restaurants open as well as the accommodations by spring and summer. I was wondering how the towns are “healing” and if overnight businesses in Vernazza are up and running again. It appears that they are not yet. Thanks for the information! Do you know about Monterosso al Mare? I know they were hit hard, too.
I hope that they can stabilize the hillsides and get their beautiful town back to normal soon. What a terrible thing for them to go through!

As it stands right now, visitors will probably not be staying overnight in Vernazza although they are allowed into the town. Gimmy and everyone else is still evacuated from the village. I suggested staying in Monterosso instead (or Manarola or Riomaggiore). Just explain your situation when you make the reservation. Everyone in Monterosso will be happy to have you there. Let me know if you need more help.
